It may be thought that teacher has an important role about making students like and achieve the courses which are thought as hard like mathematics. It is thought that, knowing the views of students about their mathematics teacher and their expectations from an ideal mathematics teacher may be important in terms of make them be unafraid of mathematics and like mathematics. To see the expectations about an ideal mathematics teacher and views of students about their mathematics teachers, twelve students were selected, according to their situation of liking or disliking mathematics, from three different elementary schools in there different socioeconomic region in 2013-2014 academic year. Qualitative research method was used fort he research design of this study. With those twelve students, interviews were done and wanted them draw their own mathematics teacher and their ideal mathematics teacher. Data was analyzed by descriptive analysis in the frame of qualitative research method. At the end of the analysis of data, it is determined that the students? views about their mathematics are shaped according to the behaviors of mathematics teacher in school. Also it is fixed that the expectations from an ideal mathematics teacher do not differ according to the different socioeconomic level or the situation of liking or disliking mathematics. It is seen that all students emphasized the personality trait of teacher. They described an ideal mathematics teacher generally who is funny, humorous and smiling.
