The main purpose of this study is to determine high school mathematics teachers’ views on mathematics education. The study was conducted by interview which is one of the qualitative research methods. The population consists of 15 mathematics teachers working in seven different types of high schools during 2013-2014 educational years. Data were coded by using content analysis. According to the findings derived from teachers’ views; teachers mostly use question-answer and verbal expression methods and don’t sufficiently use student-centered methods; students are careless of and prejudiced about mathematics; mathematics curriculum have effects on mathematics courses; parents are not interested in their students’ mathematics lessons; teacher-students connection is not sufficient especially in vocational high schools; homeworks have effects on mathematics courses; teachers want to work in a calm and small size classroom
