Məqalədə Naxçıvan və Təbriz dialektinin Azərbaycan dilinin dialekt sistemindəki mövqeyini müəyyənləşdirilmiş, onun qədim və spesifik xüsusiyyətləri aşkara çıxarılmış, bu dialektlərin Azərbaycan ədəbi dililə, digər dialektlərlə oxşar və fərqli cəhətlərini müəyyənləşdirilmiş, onlar tarixi-müqayisəli metod əsasında izah edilmişdir. Naxçıvan və Təbriz dialektinin fonetik və morfoloji quruluşunda, leksik tərkibində nəzərə çarpan işlək formaları ümumiləşdirilmiş, dilçiliyimiz üçün faydalı olan xüsusiyyətləri ön plana çəkilmiş, onları doğuran səbəbləri ümumtürkoloji səviyyədə təhlil tədqiqata cəlb edilmişdir. Naxçıvan və Təbriz dialektində morfoloji yolla söz yaradıcılığı prosesində Azərbaycan dilinə məxsus sözdüzəldici şəkilçilər üstünlük təşkil edir. Fars mənşəli şəkilçilər isə yalnız Təbriz dialektində işlənmir, bunlar təxminən alınma sözlərin tərkibində dilimizə keçmiş və şəkilçiləşmiş formada bu gün də söz yaradıcılığı prosesində iştirak edir. Azərbaycan dilində morfoloji yolla söz yaradıcılığı prosesinin öyrənilməsində, qədim sözdüzəldici şəkilçilərin aşkara çıxarılmasında dialekt və şivələrimizin materialları yazılı abidələr qədər mühüm rol oynayır. Belə ki, hər bir dialekt və yaxud şivə araşdırıldıqda səciyyəvi şəkilçilərlə yanaşı, qədim formalar da müəyyən olunmuşdur.. Bu məqalədə Naxçıvan dialekti ilə Təbriz dialekti arasında apardığımz müqayisənin ən başlıca səbəbi hələ orta əsrlərdə ictimai-iqtisadi və siyasi şəraitin təsiri ilə təbrizlilərin danışıq dilinin dialekt səviyyəsinə yüksəlməsidir. Yeri gəlmişkən qeyd edək ki, Ş.İ.Xətai, S.Ə.Nəbati, M.Möcüz, Heyran xanım, M.Şəhriyar və Səhənd kimi şairlərin əsərlərində də Təbriz dialektinin xüsusiyyətləri özünü göstərir.
