Bu çalışmanın amacı, Malatya ili Battalgazi ilçesinde bulunan ve lise eğitimine devam eden Suriyeli mülteci öğrencilerin eğitimi ile ilgili öğretmenlerin görüşlerinin neler olduğunun incelenmesidir. Öğretmenlerin görüşlerini derinlemesine incelemek amacıyla yapılan bu çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum deseni kullanılmıştır. Öğretmenlerin Suriyeli mülteci öğrencilerin eğitimi sırasında yaşadıkları sorunları ve bu sorunlara yönelik çözüm önerilerini belirlemek için veri toplama tekniklerinden “görüşme yöntemi” kullanılmıştır. Toplanan verilerin analizinde nitel analiz yöntemlerinden "betimsel analiz" yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışma grubunun belirlenmesinde amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden ölçüt örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışmaya katılan öğretmen seçiminde, sadece 9. sınıfların dersine giren öğretmenler ve kız İmam Hatip Lisesi'nde okuyan öğrenciler olmaları temel ölçüt olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu temel ölçüt uyarınca, 2022-2023 eğitim öğretim yılında Malatya ili Battalgazi ilçesinde bulunan bir lisede sınıf mevcutlarının ortalama yarıya yakını Suriyeli mülteci öğrencilerden oluşan okulda görev yapan 20 öğretmen ile gönüllülük esasına göre bireysel olarak ve yüz yüze görüşülerek bilgi toplanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda; katılımcıların çoğu dil sorunu başta olmak üzere ilgisizlik, isteksizlik, devamsızlık gibi sorunlar üzerinden durmuşlardır. Ulaşılan sonuçlar doğrultusunda dil sorunun çözülmesi, oryantasyon çalışmalarına ağırlık verilmesi önerilerinde bulunulmuştur.
The aim of this study is to explore what the teachers’ opinions about the education of Syrian refugees students who are located in the district of Malatya or Battalgazi and continue their secondary education are. In this study, in order to study the opinions of the teachers in depth, the status scheme of the quality research methods has been used. Teachers have used the "conversation method" of data collection techniques to identify the problems that Syrian refugee students experience during their training and the suggestions for solutions to these problems. In the analysis of the collected data, the method of "betimical analysis" from the methods of quality analysis was used. For the determination of the study group, the measurement sample method was used from the purpose sample methods. In the selection of teachers who participate in this study, only teachers who enter the class of 9 and girls who study at Imam Hatip High School have been determined as the basic criterion. According to this basic standard, in the 2022-2023 educational year, information was collected by individual and face-to-face consultation according to the essence of volunteering with 20 teachers working in the school consisting of approximately half of the class presents in a high school located in the district of Malatya or Battalgazi. According to the study, most of the participants were confronted with problems such as lack of interest, unwillingness, and continuity, primarily with the language problem. According to the findings, the solution of the language problem was suggested to emphasize the orientation work.
The aim of this study is to examine the views of teachers about the education of Syrian refugee students attending high school in Battalgazi district of Malatya province. In this study, case design, one of the qualitative research methods, was used to examine the views of teachers in depth. "Interview method", one of the data collection techniques, was used to determine the problems experienced by teachers during the education of Syrian refugee students and their suggestions for solutions to these problems. "Descriptive analysis" method, one of the qualitative analysis methods, was used to analyse the collected data. Criterion sampling method, one of the purposeful sampling methods, was used to determine the study group. In the selection of the teachers participating in this study, the main criteria were determined as teachers teaching only 9th grade courses and being female Imam Hatip High School students. In accordance with this basic criterion, information was collected through individual and face-to-face interviews with 20 teachers working in a high school in Battalgazi district of Malatya province in the 2022-2023 academic year, where almost half of the classrooms were composed of Syrian refugee students on a voluntary basis. As a result of the research; most of the participants emphasised the problems such as apathy, reluctance and absenteeism, especially the language problem. In line with the results, it was suggested that the language problem should be solved and orientation activities should be emphasised.
