The contribution of forensic sciences to the judicial system in the study and analysis of judicial events using scientific methods and analyzes is extremely valuable. The findings obtained from the examination of the crime scene, analyzes and assessments by forensic scientists become evidence that will be submitted to the court. The existence of the crime is examined, the relations between the victim, subject and the crime scene are clarified thanks to this evidence. It is important to closely monitor the activities of all units working for ensuring justice and a safe living space. Unmanned aerial vehicles and unmanned aerial vehicle systems are the main contributors to these studies in the 21st century. Unmanned Aerial Vehicle is defined as an aircraft that is can be flown by remote pilot control or has autonomous operation planned by the pilot control. Unmanned Aerial Vehicle System is the whole of the system elements such as the control station, the command-and-control data link, the take-off and landing system. Although these systems were developed for military use, they started to be used in civilian areas with the development of their equipment. Those areas are mainly comprised of journalism, disaster management, search and rescue operations, cartography, three-dimensional modeling, security inspections, border control, mining, meteorological, ecological, and archaeological studies. In this review, the characteristics of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle and Systems and their civil usage areas were investigated through a historical approach, and the importance of future studies in the field of crime scene investigation in terms of forensic sciences was emphasized.
