Stress, has become one of the major problems which affects employees and business world. Thus, factors that cause stress in an individual; originates from personality, general environment elements and quality of work life. Profession of accounting, as nature of the job, is one of the professions that element of stress is quite common. In this study, it is aimed to point out conditions of the profession faced with generally and causes stress along with the stress sources faced by female employees. By a questionnaire done with 220 female member of the accountancy profession, members’ origin of the stress was identified and whether the origins of stress differ meaningfully according to demographic features (age, maritial status, education, title, work time, working style and personality) or not, was established. Demographic features of the profession members were analyzed by frequency method. As a result of the survey, the stress sources that were identified that they affect the profession members were put in an order. Examining the relation between stress sources affecting profession members and demographic variables, statistically meaningful differences based on “profession title” was found. When it is examined, if a negative attitude to female membersexisted, it came out that the general opinion is that is out of question.
