Çeviri çalışmaları Antik Yunan ve Roma’ya kadar dayanır. İnsanlar tarihin başlangıcından bu yana çeşitli sebeplerle etkileşim içinde olmuş, birbirlerini etkilemiş ve birbirlerinden etkilenmişlerdir. Dillerin ortaya çıkışı, insanların farklı coğrafyalara yerleşmesi ve sonrasında savaş, ticaret, anlaşmalar gibi kültürel faaliyetlerde bulunmaları farklı kültürleri bir araya getirmiş, insanların birbirini anlaması ve kabul etmesi gerekliliğini doğurmuştur. Edebi çeviri çalışmaları ise toplumların tarihini, kültürlerini, düşünce yapılarını ve hayatı algılama biçimleri ile gelenek ve göreneklerinin ürünleri olan eserleri tanıma ve anlama, farklı toplum ve fikirlere saygılı olunması gibi kazanımlarla ön plana çıkmaktadır. Edebi çeviriler sayesinde yabancı kültürü ve insanı anlama, küreselleşen dünyada değişik konuların farklı edebi türler aracılığıyla anlatım zenginliği kolaylıkla tanınmakta, yerel edebiyata katkı sağlayacak yeni türler ve eserler ortaya çıkmaktadır. Kendi kültürümüze ait edebi eserlerin yabancı dillere çevrilmesi ise bizim kültürümüzün tanıtılması, edebiyat dünyamızın zenginliğinin anlaşılması ve kültürümüzün başka kültürlere yansıması açısından önemlidir. Sabahattin Ali’nin Kürk Mantolu Madonna eseri ise çok farklı dillere çevrilmiş, dünya edebiyatı arasında çok satanlar listesine girmiş ve çağının ötesini aşmış, ünü ve okur kitlesi günden güne artan eserlerden biri haline gelmiştir. Bu çalışmada Kürk Mantolu Madonna eserinin Almanca çevirisi edebi çeviri eleştirisi çerçevesinde ele alınacak, eserin dilsel ve kültürel unsurları üzerinde durulacaktır.
The translation works rely on the ancient Greek and Roman. People have been interacting for various reasons since the beginning of history, influenced each other and influenced each other. The appearance of languages, the settlement of people in different geographics and subsequent cultural activities such as war, trade, agreements have brought together different cultures, and the need for people to understand and accept each other. Literary translation works are in the forefront with achievements such as the recognition and understanding of the works, which are the products of societies, their cultures, their thinking structures and their ways of perception of life and their traditions and traditions, and respect for different societies and ideas. Through literary translations, the wealth of narrative of foreign culture and human understanding is easily recognized through different literary types of different subjects in the globalized world, new types and works that will contribute to local literature are emerging. The translation of literary works of our own culture into foreign languages is important in terms of the promotion of our culture, the understanding of the wealth of our literary world and the reflection of our culture to other cultures. The work of Sabahattin Ali's Skin Mantle Madonna has been translated into very different languages, has entered the list of the best-selling among world literature and has exceeded its age, and its reputation and audience has become one of the works that are increasing from day to day. In this study, the German translation of Madonna's work will be discussed in the framework of literary translation criticism, focusing on the linguistic and cultural elements of the work.
Translation studies date back to Ancient Greece and Rome. Since the beginning of history, people have interacted for various reasons, influenced and affected each other. The emergence of languages, the settlement of people in different geographies and the subsequent cultural activities such as war, trade and agreements brought different cultures together and led to the necessity for people to understand and accept each other. Literary translation studies, on the other hand, come to the forefront with gains such as recognizing and understanding the works that are the products of the history, cultures, mentality and life perception of societies and their traditions and customs, and respecting different societies and ideas. Thanks to literary translations, understanding foreign culture and people, the richness of expression of different subjects through different literary genres in the globalizing world are easily recognized, and new genres and works that will contribute to local literature are emerging. The translation of literary works belonging to our own culture into foreign languages is important in terms of introducing our culture, understanding the richness of our literary world and reflecting our culture to other cultures. Sabahattin Ali's Madonna in a Fur Coat, on the other hand, has been translated into many different languages, entered the bestseller list among world literature, and has become one of the works whose reputation and readership are increasing day by day. In this study, the German translation of Madonna in a Fur Coat will be discussed within the framework of literary translation criticism, and the linguistic and cultural elements of the work will be emphasized.
