Özet:

The history of Azerbaijan cannot be studied independently of the history of the sons, the Selchucks, the Mongols, the Arabs, the Iranians, the Ottomans, the Turkey, the Tsar Russian Federation, the Soviets and the present Russia. The views of the people of the region, interacting with many cultures, especially on religious issues, and the translation of this view through literature and art, and the impressions that the society has left in national consciousness, are worth exploring. Religion and religious beliefs are a phenomenon that forms the national and spiritual values of society, that makes it exist among communities, that separates from other communities and that makes it responsible among humans. Through the values that religion and faith offer to man, he recognizes the opportunity to express himself in the arena of civilizations and cultures. In the article we will translate examples of the works of the Azerbaidjan masterpieces in which this phenomenon was imposed on the public consciousness by the art and literature flow. When we look at the reflections of the conflict between religion and art in literature, we will observe the effectiveness of the atheist understanding, especially in the Soviet era. Although there are many studies on the Azerbaijani theatre and literature in our country, it is unlikely to say that there are enough works to create resources. Since there is no research on this topic in Turkey, in our work, a certain period of the Azerbaidjan Theatre has not been deeply discussed. In this sense, it is intended to be possible to conduct research that includes much more detailed dramatic examinations through the works shown in the example.

Özet:

The history of Azerbaijan can not be analyzed independent from the histories of Oghuzs, Seljuks, Mongols, Arabs, Iranians, Ottomons, Turkey, Czarist Russia, USSR and today’s Russia. Especially the perspectives of the people in the region related to religion and how the conscience of the nation has been affected by the information which have been transferred through literature and art are two crucial topics worth to think on. Religion and religious believes are the facts that form the national and sentimental values and that enable people to take their parts among the other people and that separate them from the other communities and that enable them to bear responsibility among the other people. Religion and believes enable people to express themselves in the cultural arena. Within the scope of the article we will exemplify how these notions have been imposed on people through literature and art by giving concrete exemples from the texts of writers from Azerbaijan. While focusing on the tension between art and religion the activities of the atheist mentality of the USSR will also be considered. Despite the fact that there are several researches related to theatre and literature in Azerbaijan, the number of researches are still limited to provide enough source. As there is no specific research on this topic in Turkey not only a specific period from the Azerbaijan theatre has been choosen. The aim of this study is to provide a ground fror futher dramaturgical studies on the texts that have been used as an example in the article.
