Developments in new information and communication technologies have not only profoundly affected social life, they have also caused a transformation in traditional media. Traditional newspapers are the media format most affected by this transformation, with both newspaper production processes and media consumption trends being influenced. As a result of traditional media’s difficulty in competing with new information and communication tools, traditional newspaper circulation has steadily decreased, and many long-standing newspaper companies have been run out business. In order to maintain their respectability and position in the community and to retain their assets in the face of new information and communication tools, traditional newspapers may choose to propose a brand new newspaper experience: an interactive newspaper using 'Quick Response Code (QR Code)'. The aim of this paper is to examine the question of whether or not traditional newspapers may have power to compete with online newspapers via the use QR Code
