Tüm dünyada yaşanan gelişmeler doğrultusunda yaşam kalitesi artmaktadır. Buna bağlı olarak uzayan yaşam süresi yaşlı nüfus oranlarının yükselmesine sebep olmaktadır. Uzayan yaşlılık süreci beraberinde yeni gereksinimler doğurmaktadır. Sosyal, psikolojik, fizyolojik ve çevresel yönleri olan yaşlanma süreci tüm bireyler için ne kadar sağlıklı ilerler ise başarılı ve dinç yaşlanmanın gerçekleşmesi o kadar mümkün olabilecektir. Yaşlanmanın önemli etmenlerinden biri çevresel koşullardır. Çevresel günlük gereksinimlerin karşılandığı, gündelik hayatın sürdürüldüğü konut ve yakın çevresidir. Yakın çevre olarak tanımlanan konut iç mekanı, konuta erişim ve konut yakın çevresindeki imkanlar bir bütün olarak yaşlı bireyin gereksinimlerini karşılayabildiğinde başarılı yaşlanmanın gerçekleşmesi mümkün olabilecektir. Yaşlının barınma mekanı olan konutu hem erişim hem de tasarım anlamında önem arz etmektedir. Uygun çevresel tasarım ve olanaklar yaşlı bireyin hayata bağlılığını arttırabilmektedir. Konutun kolaylıkla erişilebilmesi özellikle ileri yaştaki kullanıcının önemli çevresel beklentilerinden biridir. Bu çalışmada da amaç yaşlı bireylerin konuta erişimine yönelik beklentilerini saptamayı ve buna yönelik yaşam kalitesini yükseltmeye yönelik saptamaları belirlemeyi hedeflemektedir. Bu amaca ulaşabilmek için alan çalışması yapılmış ileri yaştaki birey oranının yüksek olduğu bölgede yapılan çalışmada anket yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Yaşlı bireylerin bireysel yaşam kalitelerini arttırmak üzere konutlarına yönelik memnuniyetleri ile konutlarının fiziksel koşullarının karşılaştırılması doğrultusunda beklentilerin ölçülmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Beklentilerin saptanması ile yaşlı bireylerin yaşam kalitelerinin arttırılmasına yönelik konuta erişim ile ilgili fiziksel koşulları belirlemek mümkün olabilecektir. Yaşlı olarak tanımlanan bireylerin sınırlandırılabilmesi için çalışmada hedef kitle 60 yaşın üstündeki katılımcılar ile sınırlandırılmıştır. Yapılan araştırma sonucunda konut ile ilgili veriler saptanmıştır. Anket çalışmasında katılımcı grubuna konutlarının fiziksel koşulları ile ilgili sorular yöneltilmiştir. İkamet ettikleri konutlarına yönelik memnun olma düzeyleri ölçülmüştür. Elde edilen veriler demografik veriler ile karşılaştırılarak diğer anlamlı farklılıklar tespit edilmiştir. Yaşlı bireyin konut yaklaşımı ile ilgili beklentilerine yönelik veriler değerlendirilerek öneriler getirilmiştir.
The quality of life is increasing according to the developments worldwide. The length of life due to this causes the rise in the age of the population. The ageing process brings together new needs. The social, psychological, physiological and environmental aspects of the aging process, the more healthy progress for all individuals, the more successful and relaxed aging will be possible. One of the important factors of ageing is the environmental conditions. Environmental is the housing and the surrounding area where the daily needs are met, the daily life is sustained. The housing interior defined as the near environment, access to the housing and facilities near the housing; as a whole, it will be possible to succeed in successful aging when it can meet the needs of the elderly individual. The residence of the elderly is important in terms of access and design. Suitable environmental design and possibilities can increase the elderly individual’s commitment to life. As the aging process with social, psychological, physiological and environmental aspects progresses healthily for all individuals, successful and vigorous aging will be possible. One of the important factors of aging is environmental conditions. It is the residence and its immediate surroundings where environmental daily requirements are met and daily life is maintained. The residential interior, which is defined as the immediate surroundings, access to housing and facilities in the immediate vicinity of the residence; Successful aging will be possible when it meets the needs of the elderly individual as a whole. The residence of the elderly, which is a shelter, is important in terms of both access and design. The easy access of the residence is one of the important environmental expectations of the elderly user. In this study, the aim of this study is to determine the expectations of the elderly people about access to housing and to determine the determinations to increase the quality of life for this purpose. In order to reach this goal, a field study has been conducted and the survey method has been used in the study conducted in the region where the rate of older individuals is high. In order to limit the individuals identified as elderly, the target audience was limited to participants over 60 years of age. As a result of the research, data related to housing were determined. In the survey, questions about the physical conditions of their dwellings were asked to the participant group. Satisfaction levels for their residences were measured. Other significant differences were determined by comparing the obtained data with demographic data. Suggestions were made by evaluating the data regarding the expectations of the elderly person about the housing approach. In order to increase the individual life quality of elderly individuals, it is aimed to measure the expectations in line with the satisfaction of their homes and the physical conditions of their homes. With the determination of the expectations, it will be possible to determine the physical conditions related to access to the dwelling to increase the quality of life of the elderly.
