Abstract:

It is a phenomenon that is considered to be important today, as well as physical studies and mental studies. Due to its success, sports psychology has taken advantage of this situation and has become one of the most important fields of research in sports psychology. For this reason, the examination of the level of sports intelligence of the athletes is our goal of working. The universe of the study; when the sample is made by women athletes who are active at the elite level in the province of Elazığ, the elite level athletes who are interested in the team and individual sport industry are made by women athletes. For the purpose of obtaining data in the study, the athletes’ imaging levels were developed by Hall and his friends(1998) as specific to the sport, 30 questions which were adapted to Turkey by Vurgun(2010) for the purpose of obtaining data were used in the Sports Imaging Inventory and personal information form. In the statistical analysis of the data, the spss program was used and the 0.05 significance level was selected. Athletes who participated in the study were first calculated demographic information. Then, calculating the total points of imitation and subdimensions in general, the appropriate tests were made to determine the difference between these points with the age, education status and sports year variables. According to the study, there were a total of 198 participants. Athletes generally have a high level of imagination. In addition, there is a significant difference between the age and education levels of athletes and the total scores of the image in the sport, but there is no significant difference between the year of sporting and the type of sport (team sports, individual sports). When we look at which groups this difference is in favour, we have come to the conclusion that young athletes are older athletes and the educational status of the athletes in primary and high school athletes are higher than athletes in university education.
