Kişilik özelliklerinin iş yaşamında ve çalışanın işe cezbolmasında önemli etkisi olduğu düşünülmektedir. Bu kapsamda İstanbul’da mobilya sektöründe faaliyet gösteren bir örgütte 204 kişi üzerinde yapılan bu çalışmada beş faktör kişilik özelliklerinin çalışanların işe cezbolma algıları üzerindeki etkisi incelenmiştir. Araştırmada beş faktör kişilik özellikleri (dışadönüklük, duygusal denge, uyumluluk, sorumluluk ve açıklık) bağımsız değişken olarak alınmıştır. İşe cezbolma ise tek boyutlu bağımlı değişken olarak alınmıştır. Beş faktör kişilik özelliklerinin çalışanların işe cezbolmaları üzerindeki etkisini belirlemek amacıyla oluşturulan modele uygun olarak yol analizi yapılmıştır. Analiz sonucunda beş faktör kişilik özellikleri boyutlarından dışadönüklük (0,41; p<0,01) ve uyumluluğun (0,24; P<0,01) işe cezbolmaya olumlu yönde; öz disiplinin olumsuz yönde etki ettiği (-0,31; p<0,01) ve nevrotiklik ve gelişime açıklığın anlamlı bir etkisinin olmadığı belirlenmiştir.

It is thought that personality traits have an important effect on individual’s work life and job engagement. In this regard, a study is conducted on the 204 employees who work in the field of furniture making in Istanbul. In this study, the effects of five major personality traits on the perception of employees' job engagement is analyzed. In the study, five major personality traits (open to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, neuroticism) are considered as independent variables. Whereas, job engagement is considered as a one factor dependent variable. A path analysis is done according to the model which was formed to decide the affects of five major personality traits on the perception of employee's job engagement. As a result of analysis, it is found that agreeableness (0,24; p<0,01) and extraversion (0,41; p<0,01) have positive significant impact, whereas conscientiousness (-0,31; p<0,01) has negative significant impact and openness to experience and neuroticism have no significant impact on job engagement at all.
