Abstract:

Refik Halit Karay, which is considered one of the important names in the field of history in Turkish literature, is an artist with ideas, criticism and humor. The works of the writer, Country Stories and Gurbet Stories, have been recognized as one of the most beautiful examples of Maupassant style narrative in Turkish literature. In this study, Refik Halit Karay's books named Country Stories and Gurbet Stories were evaluated in terms of their contribution to the Turkish Dictionary. In the framework of the study, the words that the author used in his stories but did not find place in the Turkish Dictionary and the words that were included in the Dictionary were studied according to the head of some articles not concrete with examples. In this sense, with the identification of new uses, it is intended to contribute to the Turkish dictionary work.
