Abstract:

This study aims to study the self-respect and satisfaction of people with visual disabilities who do sports. For this purpose, at the age of 18 and over 80 who do sports has been applied the "Self-respect and Life Doyum Scale" for visual disabilities. The differences between the groups were studied and the t and ANOVA tests were used because the variables came from normal distribution. If there is a difference in the ANOVA test, the differences are calculated with the Tukey test, taking into account the homogenity assumption of the variants. The correlation test is used to consider the relationship between the variables. According to the findings, there was no meaningful relationship between self-respect and age, gender, educational status, income level variables (p>0,05). While there is no meaningful relationship between life satisfaction and the variables of gender and educational conditions, there is a statistically meaningful relationship between life satisfaction and age and income levels (p<0,05). At the same time, there was a statistically meaningful relationship between self-respect and the level of life-satisfaction in the same direction, and the middle-degree of power (r=0, 528; p<0,05). The result is that as the self-respect of people with visual disabilities is increased, the level of life satisfaction is also increased.
