Abstract:

There are two important steps to be taken into consideration in the modeling work. The first of these is to identify the criteria to be used in the assessment of the decision problem in a correct and complete manner. The next step is to be able to correctly express the interactions and the structure of the relationship between the criteria identified. Some decision issues can be modeled simply hierarchically, while structures that contain extremely complex feedback and interactions may be more suitable for some. The aim of this study is to explore the impact of different modeling techniques on problem-solving. For this purpose, they were chosen as the modeling tool in the decision-making issue of the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHS) and the Analytical Network Process (AAS). In the framework of the study, a chain in Turkey has been selected in eight different districts of the shopping and living centers of AVM, compared by the customer’s preferential levels. The work was discussed in two stages. In the first phase, the problem assessment criteria are modeled using the AHS and AAS methods and the criterion weights are calculated. In the second phase, shopping centers were evaluated using the criteria weights determined by the AHS and AAS methods and the VIKOR and TOPSIS methods. The results of the study discussed the impact of weights obtained structurally from two different methods on the solution results.
