Finansal Okuryazarlık ile Tasarruf Davranışları İlişkisi Üzerine Ampirik Bir Çalışma

Abstract:

Finansal bilgi, tutum, davranışlar ve sosyo-demografik niteliklerin, kişilerin tasarruf kararlarında ne düzeyde etkisinin olduğunu anlamak ve bu niteliklerin birbirleriyle olan ilişkilerini test etmek amacıyla yapılan bu araştırmada, Bartın ilinde ikamet etmekte olan kamu ve özel sektörde çalışan toplamda 476 kişiye anket uygulanmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucuna göre, finansal okuryazarlık düzeyi ile katılımcıların çalıştıkları kurum tipi, hane halkı geliri, kredi kartı kullanma durumu, yaş, eğitim düzeyi ve aylık gelirleri arasında anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Ayrıca, tasarruf yapma durumu ile hane halkı gelir düzeyi arasında anlamlı bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Ek olarak, tasarruf davranışlarının yaşa, aylık gelire, medeni duruma, finansal gelişmeleri takip etme sıklığına ve finansal okuryazarlık düzeyine göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık gösterdiği sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır.

An Empirical Study On Relation Between Financial Literacy and Saving Behaviors

Abstract:

In this research, which was carried out to understand the effect of financial knowledge, attitudes, behaviors, and socio-demographic characteristics on people's savings decisions and to test the relations of these characteristics with each other, 476 people working in the public and private sectors residing in Bartın province. According to the results of the study, a significant relationship was found between the level of financial literacy and the type of institution where the participants work, household income, credit card usage status, age, education level and monthly income. Furthermore, a significant relationship was found between savings behaviour and household income level. In an additional finding, it has been concluded that saving behaviours show a statistically significant difference according to age, monthly income, marital status, the frequency of following the financial developments and the level of financial literacy.
