Abstract:

This article examined the impact of intelligence on the decision-making mechanisms in the Cyprus Crisis. The concept of intelligence and the studies that the countries have done on this issue, crises and intervention factors have been conducted. The main causes and consequences of the Cybersecurity crises (1963-1964, 1967, 1974 Cybersecurity crises, 1987 Cybersecurity crises and 1996 Cybersecurity crises) are listed. Cyprus is fighting these crises while taking the steps and decisions that Turkey has taken in the foreign policy point, the priorities, the tools and techniques used have been identified. The crises that occurred in certain intervals with different titles have significantly affected the crisis management processes and the culture of Turkey. The work in this context has also taken place in this article. In addition, it has also been studied how the methods of crisis management implemented during the crises create outcomes in the direction of Turkish foreign policy. Thus, on the issue of Cyprus, the effectiveness and adequacy of the Turkish Foreign Policy in the management of the form of crisis was assessed. The influence and role of the decision-making mechanisms in the crisis processes on the future of countries and states is very important. Here, both the size of that role and the influence of the international and national media and the public, the role of third-party actors are included. In war and crisis situations, intelligence work is carried out with its own approach and technique for each situation. During the Cold War, intelligence work has become a strategy and field in international relations. Almost all of the developing and changing intelligence work serves the same purpose. Although countries have a different perspective on the concept of strategic intelligence, it requires that they be cautious against future and potential crises in competition areas. This study emphasizes the impact of intelligence in crisis crises and the success of management processes.
