Abstract:

Energy resources, on the one hand, is one of the world’s greatest needs and on the other hand, one of the greatest problems. Due to the inequal distribution of fossil energy resources in the world, the production, shipping and trade processes can cause various problems between countries. There are also serious environmental problems in the process from production to consumption of these energy sources. Renewable energies are extinct and environmentally friendly sources that are found everywhere in the world. With the spread of these energies, conflicts between countries related to fossil energy sources are expected to be reduced. Although the use of fossil fuels is more economically preferred today, the use of renewable energy sources will become more economical in the years with the advanced technology compared to fossil fuels. This study first describes the world’s energy vision and renewable energy sources. In turn, its developing economies and significant potential have been provided with renewable energy sources of Latin America. Finally, the example country has explained Brazil’s renewable energy sources and the current production status: Brazil, the largest country in Latin America’s geography, is among the world’s top countries in terms of hydraulic, wind, solar and bioenergy potential. Brazil, which has a rich potential for renewable energy sources, is increasingly focused on these resources over the day.
