Abstract:

Industry 4.0 conceptually came to the fore for the first time at the fair held in Hannover, Germany in 2011, and became the name of a project that basically expresses the reorganization of the international competitiveness of the German industry. Expressing radical technological changes and innovations in terms of its content, this concept has started to show its effect in all sectors, especially automotive, aviation, health and logistics, thus it has become an area where academic studies on the subject are increasing day by day. In this study, the situation of "Industry 4.0" in the automotive sector of Bursa, which is the center of our country's automotive sector, was examined with reference to the period when the process first started to occur and the conceptualization made. In the study, in which qualitative research technique was used as a method, "interviews" were made with representatives of companies at various levels, and the obtained information was analyzed using the SWOT (GZFT) technique. As a result of the analysis; It has been concluded that although existing companies are aware of the concept of Industry 4.0, they do not have full knowledge of its content and scope and therefore cannot coordinate the process, therefore, they are at the "Industry 3.0" level, referring to the previous stage, and they are trying to integrate with Industry 4.0 technologies.
