So many results that aren't mine?

Parents’ Voices that Cries

Abstract:

This study was aimed to elucidate out of school children’s parents subjective perspective that limits the access to education of their children. Qualitative research method was used to find out these limits by using semi structured interviews of one hundred and three out of school children’s parents to get the clear picture of out of school children’s problems from the experiences of their parents which were restraining them from school. For this purpose thematic analysis of video recorded interviews was conducted with the help of NVivo 11 plus software. The thematic analysis of the data highlighted many reasons for being out of school by using codes, themes and subthemes. During one to one interviews, researcher raised questions related to five significant hurdles which out of school children confronted i.e. cultural factors, demographic factors, psychological factors, socioeconomic factors, and policy barriers. The major reasons were poverty, illiteracy, gender, disability, jobless fathers’, fear of sexual harassment, domestic conflicts, high inflation rate, family size, and organizational and structural policy barriers.
