Abstract:

The research was done in order to determine how the social skills levels of students who are trained in the High School of Physical Education and Sports are shaped according to some variables discussed. The research work group is made up of students who are studying in the 2018-2019 educational and teaching year at Kahramanmaraş Sütçü Imam University Body Education and Sports High School. A total of 262 students, including 160 students from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching who want to participate voluntarily in the study, and 102 students from the Department of Training. Personal information form and social skills inventory (SBE) are used in the collection of data. The study found that the social skills levels vary from gender to gender and that the total score average of women was higher. While the social skills levels don’t differ according to the class they read, it was observed that the middle and high income levels had a higher score average than the weak ones. According to the variable of the sport they do, the results resulted in the fact that the students engaged in team sports have higher levels of social skills than the students engaged in individual sports.
