Abstract:

For the first time in the Ottoman state, the population number II. It was made in the Mahmut period. This counting was made in order to determine the financial funding of the new army established in place of the New Jersey Army where discipline and order were not left. The number of people that began in 1829 but remained half because of the Russian war and in 1831 was seen as the first number made in contemporary sense. However, this number has not been made at the same time in each area. In Behisni, which is administratively linked to the state of Maraş, this number was made in 1835. This study, according to the first population count made in the Behisni accident, aims to reveal the demographic status of non-Muslims living in the accident. Using the population register number 7298, which is one of the records containing the data of the Ottoman Archives of the President of the Republic of Turkey, the places where non-Muslims reside in Behisni, the population, the age conditions, the business and professions they work to ensure their survival, have been examined.
