Abstract:

The aim of this study is to analyze the texts in the 6th grade Kyrgyz Textbook according to Schwartz's Value Groups Table. In the study, document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in compiling the data. Descriptive analysis method was used in the analysis of the research data. Within the scope of the research, 28 reading texts in the 6th Grade Kyrgyz Textbook were examined. Sentences containing value expressions in the texts were included in the relevant value category, and the frequencies of each value were calculated separately according to the texts. Schwartz's Value Groups consist of the sub-values of power, achievement, hedonism, stimulation, self-direction, universalism, benevolence, tradition, harmony and security. As a result of the research, it was determined that the values in Schwartz's Table of Values were included 183 times in the texts in the 6th Grade Kyrgyz Language Textbook. While harmony, universalism, tradition and security values stand out as frequently used values, stimulation, power and hedonism seem to be used less compared to other values.
