Abstract:

The first Covid-19 epidemic is a disease that begins in December 2019 in the Chinese city of Vuhan with respiratory complaints such as fever, cough, breathing impairment, leading to multiple organ failure, which can be seen in all age groups, resulting in death. Covid-19 has been affected by all countries in a short period of four months and has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). For the first time in human history, an epidemic has profoundly affected the functioning of health, economy, and educational institutions of all countries. In Turkey, various corporate measures have been taken to protect human health and to be less affected by the epidemic. The National Education Ministry (MEB) has also made a decision on distance education due to the epidemic. Therefore, this study aims to study the teachers’ opinions about how the distant learning processes of special education students during the Covid-19 epidemic. Research is a research in which the quality data collection technique is used from the quality research patterns to the factual science patterns. The research was conducted with 19 special training teachers according to the aim of the sample technique. The research data was collected in a three-month process in March-May 2020. The research data is subject to visual analysis. The study found that the participants had problems in the implementation of planning, training and teaching activities, that the materials and assistant technologies used in special training did not serve the purpose, that they had significant difficulties in providing student motivation and providing problematic behaviors. The research has concluded that the technological sub-structure and family education are very important in the process of distance learning.
