Süleyman Nazif Efendi, klasik Türk edebiyatının 19. yüzyıl şair ve nasirlerindendir. Klasik edebiyatımızın geleneksel sanat anlayışına uygun olarak şiirler ve nesirler yazmıştır. Bu makalemiz, Süleyman Nazif Efendi’nin hayatı, edebî şahsiyeti ve tespit ettiğimiz tek eseri olan Eş’âr ve Münşeat’ının tanıtımını kapsamaktadır. Bu bağlamda çalışmamız üç ana bölüme ayrılmıştır. İlk bölümde Süleyman Nazif Efendi’nin hayatı hakkında bilgi verilmiş, ikinci bölümde edebî şahsiyeti elimizdeki tek eserinden hareketle değerlendirilmiş, son bölümde ise Eş’âr ve Münşeat, şekil ve muhteva yönleri ile iki alt başlıkta tanıtılmıştır. Bu makale ile Süleyman Nazif Efendi ve tespit edebildiğimiz tek eseri olan Eş’âr ve Münşeat’ının tanıtılması amaçlanmıştır.
Süleyman Nazif Efendi is one of the poets and prosers in the 19th century. He wrote poems and proses compatible with traditional artistic sytle of our classical literature. The article we wrote consists of Süleyman Nazif Efendi’s life, his literal character and the definition of his only book we detected “Eş’âr ve Münşeât”. In this case our thesis leads to three main sections. In the first section, the life of Süleyman Nazif Efendi has been presented. In the second section, his literal character which is based on his only book we have has been evaluated. In the last section, “Eş’âr ve Münşeât” has been presented in two subtitles as formation and content. In that article it is aimed to introduce Süleyman Nazif Efendi and his only work that we could have detected “Eş’ar ve Münşeât”.
