Ergenlerin Duygusal Zekaları ile Mizah Tarzları Arasındaki İlişkinin İncelenmesi

Abstract:

Araştırmanın amacı, lise dönemindeki öğrencilerin yaşadıkları aile sorunlarının duygusal zeka ve mizah tarzına etkisini incelemektir. Araştırma nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden ilişkisel tarama modeline uygun bir şekilde hazırlanmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemini 2018-2019 Eğitim-Öğretim yılında İstanbul’da farklı program türlerinde eğitim veren liselerden, 9.,10.,11. ve 12. sınıflara devam eden 205 kız, 189 erkek olmak üzere, toplam 394 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Bu öğrencilere “Mizah Tarzları Ölçeği” ve “Schutte Duygusal Zeka Ölçeği” ile ‘Gençlik Dönemindeki Aile Sorunlarını Değerlendirme Ölçeği’ uygulanmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre duygusal zekânın kız öğrenciler lehine anlamlı çıktığı görülmüştür. Duygusal zeka puanları arttıkça olumlu mizah tarzlarından ‘kendini geliştiren mizah’ tarzı puanları da artış göstermektedir. Ayrıca, yıkıcı mizah tarzı ile duygusal zeka arasında pozitif bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Öğrencilerin verdiği yanıtlara göre yaşadıkları aile sorunlarından en yüksek ortalama ‘Otoriter anne baba tutumu’, onun hemen ardından ise ‘ilişkilerde duyarsızlık ve tutarsızlık’ olarak bulunmuştur. Duygusal zeka toplam puanları ile aile sorunlarını belirleme ölçeği puanları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı doğrusal bir ilişki bulunmazken öğrencilerin aile sorunlarının azaldıkça katılımcı ve kendini geliştiren mizah tarzı puanlarının arttığı görülmüştür. Araştırmanın, ergenlerin etkili sosyal ilişkiler kurmalarında rol oynayan duygusal zeka ile mizah faktörünü bir arada ele alarak aile tutumlarının bu iki faktörle ilişkisini ortaya koyarak bu konuda çalışanlara yol gösterici olması beklenmektedir.

Abstract:

The purpose of the study is to study the impact of the family problems students in high school experience on the style of emotional intelligence and humor. The research is prepared in accordance with the relative scan model from quantum research methods. The examples of the study 2018-2019 Education-Teaching year consist of a total of 394 students, including 205 girls, 189 men, who continue to 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th classes, from high schools that educate in different types of programs in Istanbul. These students have been applied to the "Mizah Styles Scale" and the "Schutte Emotional Intelligence Scale" with the "Mizah Assessment of Family Problems in the Youth Period". The findings from the research found that emotional intelligence was meaningful for girls students. As the emotional intelligence scores increase, the "self-developing humor" style scores from the positive humor styles also increase. In addition, there has been a positive relationship between the devastating style of humor and emotional intelligence. According to the students’ answers, the highest average of the family problems they experienced was the ‘autoritary parent’ attitude, and immediately after it was the ‘inconsistency and incoherence in relationships’. While there is no statistically meaningful linear relationship between the overall score of emotional intelligence and the scale of determining family problems, the lower family problems of students have seen the increase in the score of participating and self-developing humor. The study is expected to be a guide to the workers in this area by discussing the emotional intelligence and the humorous factor that plays the role of adolescents in establishing effective social relationships, revealing the relationship of family attitudes with these two factors.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of family problems experienced by high school students on emotional intelligence and humor. The relationship between emotional intelligence and humor style was examined according to age and gender, and the relationship between the family attitudes was investigated. This research has been designed in accordance with the relational screening model of quantitative research methods. The sample of the study was selected from the students attending to schools in Istanbul, in the 2018-2019 academic year. Total of 394 students from different types of programs attending the high schools in Kadikoy, Uskudar, Atasehir, Besiktas, Fatih and Bahçelievler generated the sample (205 girls and 189 boys). These students who have normal development were from 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades. ‘The Humor Styles Scale’, which aims to reveal the humor styles, and the ‘Schutte Emotional Intelligence Scale’, which measures the emotional intelligence, were applied to the students, also with to the ‘Family Problem Assessment Scale’ in the Youth Period. The data obtained from the study were analyzed by a special statistical packet program developped for the researchers in social sciences. According to the findings; It was determined that high school students' emotional intelligence differed significantly in favor of female students according to gender variable. As the emotional intelligence scores of the participating students increased, the Self-Developing Humor style scores of the positive humor styles also increased. A positive relationship was found between destructive humor and emotional intelligence. According to the answers given by the students, the situation with the highest mean of family problems is ‘ authoritarian parents attitude ‘, this result was followed by ‘insensitivity and inconsistency in relations’. The lowest average problem was revealed as, health and social problems. There was no statistically significant linear relationship between emotional intelligence As the family problems of the students decrease, the participant and self-improving humor style scores increase. The research is important in terms of determining the relationship between emotional intelligence and humor styles which are both very crucial in a successful social life and also the data about the effects of familial problems indicates a general view and these results could guide professionals working with adolescents and parents
