Abstract:

This study, which was carried out in accordance with the analysis of errors, which has an important place in foreign language teaching, was carried out with 41 foreign students at Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University. The mistakes in the written texts obtained from the students were compiled and counted by dividing them into sub-categories on spelling and punctuation, considering the lack of studies focusing on this field in the literature. According to the mistakes of the students, the categories appeared as capital letters, misspellings of words or suffixes, writing missing or extra letters, writing adjacent or separate, and lack of punctuation or inaccuracy. Although mistakes can be divided into excessive rules, not knowing the exceptions, and wrong concept development, it can easily be said that the effect of carelessness and carelessness brought by fast typing on the keyboard is great.
