Rum ve Yunanlıların” Enosis” emelleri, yani Kıbrıs’ın Yunan adası yapılma düşüncesine karşı, 20-22 Temmuz ve 14-16 Ağustos 1974 tarihleri arasında, adadaki Türklerin güvenliği ve barışı için Kıbrıs Barış Harekâtı gerçekleştirildi. Barış Harekâtıyla adada yüzyıllardan beri süre gelen, Rum tahakkümü ve zulmü sona erdirildi. Böylece adadaki Türklerin insanca, hür ve bağımsız yaşayabilmeleri için yeni bir ortam sağlandı.   Barış harekâtına, Türkiye’nin hemen her ilinden olduğu gibi Amasya’dan da askerler katıldı. Çalışmayla bugün çoğunluğu hayatta olan gaziler referans kaynağı alınarak, genç nesillerin yarını yorumlayabilmeleri ve sonuçlar çıkarıp değerlendirme yapabilmelerine yardımcı olmak amaçlandı. Sözlü tarih çalışması olarak gazilerle mülakat yapılıp, anlatımları görüntülü ve sesli olarak kayıt altına alındı. Gazilerin bire bir yaşayıp, şahit oldukları olaylar tespit edilip, Amasya Gaziler Derneği, Merzifon Şehit Aileleri Dayanışma ve Yardımlaşma Derneği ile Askerlik şubelerinden alınan bilgilerden de faydalanılarak tablolarlar oluşturuldu.  Kıbrıs Barış Harekâtının çizdiği sınırlar, Türk tarafına devlet kurma hakkını tanıdığından sonuçta; adadaki Türkler 13 Şubat 1975’de “Kıbrıs Türk Federe Devleti” ni ve 15 Kasım 1983’te de “Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti” ni kurdular.

The Romans and Greeks' "Enosis" emulsions, that is, against the idea of Cyprus's Greek island, between 20-22 July and 14-16 August 1974, the Cyprus Peace Movement for the security and peace of the Turks on the island was carried out. With the Peace Movement on the island for centuries, the Rom struggle and persecution were ended. Thus a new environment was provided for the Turks on the island to be able to live humanly, free and independently.   In the peace movement, as from almost every province of Turkey, soldiers from Amasya also participated. The study aimed at helping young generations to interpret the tomorrow and find out and evaluate the results, taking the majority of today’s survivors from a reference source. As a verbal history work, interviews were made with the gazis, and the stories were recorded in visual and vocal form. The people who live in a single life, the events they witnessed, and the tables were created using the information received from the Amassia Gazis Association, the Merzifon Şehit Families Association and the Military Branches.  The boundaries of the Cyprus Peace Movement, as the Turkish side recognized the right to establish a state; the Turks on the island founded the "Cyprus Turkish Federation State" on 13 February 1975 and the "Northern Cyprus Turkish Republic" on 15 November 1983.

Cyprus peace operation was realized on 20-22 July and 14-16 August 1974 on the island to ensure the security of the Turkish people settled on the island against Greece ideal called ”Enosis”, which means to make the island one of the Greek islands in Agean sea.  The dominancy and the torture of the Greek army came to an end with the operation. A new life for Turkish people started on the island with independence and peace.   Many soldiers from different parts of Turkey took part in this operation besides the soldiers from Amasya. This study is aimed to get results for evaluation and to interpret the future for the young generation through the interviews of the gazis who are still alive.  The gazi soldiers were interviewed as oral history study and their words were recorded. The events that the soldiers experienced on the island were determined and tables were made related to the documents obtained from Amasya Gaziler Derneği, Merzifon Şehit Aileleri Dayanışma ve Yardımlaşma Derneği and Recruitment Office.  After the operation Turkey gained right to determine the borders on the island and The Turkish people settled on the island declared ‘’Cyprus Federation State’’ on 13 February, 1975 and then ‘’North Cyprus Turkish State’’ on 15 November, 1983.
