Sivas ili bulunduğu coğrafi konum bakımından, İç Anadolu Bölgesi, Doğu Karadeniz Bölgesi ve Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi’nde topraklara sahiptir. Farklı iklim özellikleri, kültürel ve tarihi zenginlikler bakımından önemli avantajlara sahiptir. Sivas; kuzeyinde Ordu, kuzeybatısında Tokat, doğusunda Erzincan, kuzeydoğusunda Giresun, batısında Yozgat, güneybatısında Kayseri, güneyinde de Malatya ve Kahramanmaraş illeriyle komşudur. Bölgelerimiz arasında geçiş noktasında bulunmaktadır. Bundan dolayı eski çağlardan itibaren yerleşmelere sahne olmuştur. Aynı zamanda Doğu- batı ve kuzey-güney yönlü göçler için bir uğrak yeri olmuştur. Bu özellikleri dolayısıyla bölgede birçok uygarlığın iz ve etkilerine rastlamak mümkündür. Tarihi geçmişi Neolitik döneme kadar ulaşmaktadır. Eski Tunç çağından itibaren kesintisiz yerleşmeler günümüze kadar devam etmiştir. Sivas ve çevresine göçlerle gelen Avrasyalı atlı göçebe Türk kavimlerinden Kimmer ve İskitlerin de iz ve etkilerine rastlanmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Demir Çağ’ında Karadeniz’in kuzeyinden Kafkaslar, Doğu Anadolu, orta ve batı Anadolu’ya kadar göçlerle geldikleri anlaşılan Kimmer ve İskitlerin Sivas ilindeki iz ve etkileri hakkında bilgiler vermektir.
In terms of the geographical location where the Sivas is located, it has land in the Inner Anatolian Region, Eastern Black Sea Region and Eastern Anatolian Region. Different climate characteristics have significant advantages in terms of cultural and historical wealth. Sivas; in the north Army, in the north-west Tokat, in the east Erzincan, in the north-east Giresun, in the west Yozgat, in the south-west Kayseri, in the south also with the provinces of Malatya and Kahramanmaraş. It is a transition between our regions. This is why it has been the scene of settlements since ancient times. It was also a destination for east-west and north-south-oriented migrations. Because of these characteristics, it is possible to find the traces and effects of many civilizations in the region. The historical history reaches the Neolithic era. From the ancient Tunch age, uninterrupted settlements have continued until today. The Eurasian horse migrants from the Turkish peoples from Sivas and its surroundings have also been found in the traces and effects of Kimmer and Iskit. The aim of this study is to provide information about the traces and effects of the Kimmer and Iskit, which appear to have come with migrations from the north of the Black Sea in the Iron Age to the Caucasus, Eastern Anadolu, Central and Western Anadolu.
