Söylem olarak milliyetçilik, toplumsal pratikler içinde kendine ait bir yer bulmakta ve kültürel metinler aracılığıyla sosyal alana taşınmaktadır. Milliyetçi ideoloji ise genellikle militarist söylemler etrafında biçimlenmektedir. Günümüzde önemli bir ifade aktarım aracı olan medya, aynı zamanda ideolojik bir aygıt olma niteliğindedir. Dolayısıyla medya, militarist söylemin üretilmesinde, aktarılmasında ve bu sayede toplumsal rollerin inşa edilmesinde önemli bir yerde konumlanmaktadır. Bu toplumsal roller genellikle cinsiyet bağlamında kadınlık temsili üzerinden inşa edilmekte ancak son zamanlarda erkeklik üzerine de çalışmalar yapılmaktadır. Yapılan çalışmada Türkiye’deki erkekliğin militarist söylemle yeniden üretildiği ve militarize edilmiş erkekliği inşa ettiği varsayımından yola çıkarak “Söz” dizisi söylem analiziyle incelenmiş ve bahsi geçen askeri dizide milliyetçi söylemle erkekliklerin militarize edilmiş olduğu ortaya konmuştur. Ayrıca bu dizide militarizmin dramatik bir gösteri gibi sunulduğu, bu gösterinin yapısının erkek egemen ve otoriteryan olduğu, militarist bir mantıkla bu mekanizmanın ötekileştirme ve bastırma üzerine kurulu olduğu saptanmıştır.
Speaking, nationalism finds its own place in social practices and moves to the social sphere through cultural texts. Nationalist ideology is often formed around militarist speeches. Today, the media, which is an important means of expression transmission, is also in the nature of being an ideological instrument. Therefore, the media is placed an important place in the production, transmission and thus the construction of social roles of the militarist speech. These social roles are often built through female representation in the context of gender; but recent studies are also conducted on masculinity. In the study, the assumption that men in Turkey were re-produced by militarist speech and that militarized men were built by the assumption that the "Sword" series was studied by speech analysis and the mentioned military series found that men were militarized by nationalist speech. In this series it is also found that militarism is presented as a dramatic demonstration, that the structure of this demonstration is male-dominant and authoritary, and that this mechanism is based on militarist logic on the authoritization and oppression.
