Abstract:

The aim of this study is to adapt the Cyberdating Q_ A into Turkish and to conduct validity and reliability studies for university students. The study group of the research consists of 523 people who continue their undergraduate education. Confirmatory factor analysis was performed for the construct validity of the scale, and the relationship between the Perceived Relationship Quality Components Scale and the Internal Relationship Control subscale of The Multidimensional Relationship Scale were examined for criterion-related validity. As a result of confirmatory factor analysis, the original structure of the scale with 6 factors was confirmed, but one item was removed from the scale. As a result of the correlation analysis made for criterion-related validity, the correlation coefficients ranged between .06 and .31. Within the scope of the reliability study of the scale, Cronbach's alpha coefficients for the subscales were found to be .72 for online control, .65 for emotional communication strategies, .72 for online jealousy, .48 for online intrusive behavior, .66 for online friendship practices, and .59 for online intimacy. The findings of the study show that the Online Romantic Relationship Quality Scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool to measure how emerging adults use technology in their romantic relationships.
