Abstract:

This study is aimed to measure the financial performance of companies in the BIST Chemical, Petroleum, Rubber and Plastic Products industry with the Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) method. In this direction, the financial performance of 39 companies in 2021 was measured with the SECA method on the basis of the financial ratios. The weights of the criteria and the performance rankings of the alternatives were determined simultaneously using the Simultaneous Evaluation of Criteria and Alternative (SECA) method. To test the reliability and robustness of the results, sensitivity analysis was performed and the results obtained with the SECA model were compared with the Method based on the Removal Effects of Criteria (MEREC) based Simple Additive Weighting (SAW), Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment (WASPAS), Range of Value (ROV) and Biswas and Saha MCDM models. In the last stage, Copeland method was used to obtain a rational ranking. According to the Copeland method results, ANGEN, ALKIM and ACSEL companies were found to be in the top three ranks in terms of financial performance. It has been determined that the model used is suitable for financial performance measurement.
