Abstract:

This research was carried out to examine the sportsmanship levels of the hockey players who participated in the men's indoor 1st league competitions organized by the Turkish Hockey Federation. The research was applied to a total of 92 male athletes selected by convenience sampling method. In the research, a multidimensional sportsmanship orientation scale for athletes and a demographic information form developed to determine the demographic characteristics of hockey players were used. Frequency analysis was used to determine the percentage distribution of demographic information. T-test and Anova test were applied for independent groups. In terms of sportsmanship level scores, no significant difference was found in terms of age variable, sports year variable and sports status of the athletes (p>0.05). In terms of educational status variable, it was determined that there was a significant difference in favor of primary school students in terms of respect for rules and management in the sub-dimension of the sportsmanship level scale (p<0.05). In conclusion; While a significant difference was found in favor of primary school students in terms of educational status variable of sportsmanship levels of indoor hockey 1st League athletes, it was found that there was no significant difference in terms of age, year of sports and status of doing sports.
