Bu çalışma üniversite öğrencilerinin sosyal damgalanma ile psikolojik yardım arama tutumu arasındaki ilişkide kendini damgalamanın rolünü incelemektedir. Online form aracılığıyla 271 öğrenciden toplanan veriler üzerinde yapılan analizlere göre kadınların psikolojik yardım arama tutumlarının erkeklerden anlamlı şekilde daha yüksek, sosyal damgalanma ve kendini damgalama algısının ise istatistiki olarak daha düşük olduğu bulunmuştur. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre sosyal damgalanma ile psikolojik yardım arama tutumu arasındaki ilişkide kendi damgalamanın dolaylı etkisinin anlamlı olduğu bulunmuştur. Bu ilişkinin sosyal damgalanmanın psikolojik yardım arama tutumu üzerindeki olumsuz etkisini daha da güçlendirdiği saptanmıştır. Ayrıca bulgular öğrencilerin üniversiteler tarafından ücretsiz verilen psiko-sosyal hizmetlerden haberi olmadığını çarpıcı şekilde göstermektedir. Araştırma sonuçları erkek öğrencilerin yardım arama tutumlarına ilişkin damgalayıcı süreçlerin incelenmesi ve üniversite psiko-sosyal servislerinin psikolojik yardım arama tutumlarına karşı damgalayıcı örüntüleri önleyici ve dönüştürücü çalışmalar içerisinde olması gerektiğini göstermektedir. Sınırlılıklar ve öneriler çalışmada ele alınmıştır.
This study examines the role of self-impression in the relationship between the social marking of university students and the attitude to seek psychological help. Analysis of data collected from 271 students through the online form found that women’s behavior to seek psychological help was significantly higher than men, and the perception of social marking and self-marking was statistically lower. The research finds that the indirect effect of self-marking is meaningful in the relationship between social marking and psychological assistance seeking attitude. This relationship has been found to further strengthen the negative impact of social marking on the attitude of seeking psychological help. The findings also impressively show that students are not aware of psycho-social services provided for free by universities. The research results show that the study of the markuping processes related to the attitudes of male students seeking help and the university psychosocial services must be in preventive and transformative studies with markuping patterns against the attitudes seeking psychological help. Restrictions and suggestions were discussed in the study.
