Abstract:

      Ibn Khaldun is one of the thinkers who holds an important place in the history of Islamic thought. Ibn Khaldun, who had a great reputation in the philosophy of history and sociology, has given place to observations and interpretations about the factors affecting the personality development of in his work called Muqaddimah. According to Ibn Khaldun, human cannot be considered independent of the geography in which he lives and the culture of society.       Therefore, the fact that man lives in different climates and regions causes him to have different temperament and spiritual abilities. He emphasizes that environmental factors, rather than heredity, are more effective in determining the overall character of the individual. The purpose of this article is to identify and evaluate Ibn Khaldun's views on the factors affecting the individual's personality development. The Thinker's views were determined from his own work Muqaddimah and benefited from research on Ibn Khaldun. In the research was used technique of content analysis and document review.
