Türklerin Müslümanlığı kitleler hâlinde ve devlet kimliğiyle kabulleri, 10. yüzyılda Volga Bulgarları ve Karahanlılar döneminde gerçekleşmiştir. Dine intisapta erken dönemde yaşananları er-Rıhle, el-Kâmil, Mülhakâtü’s-Sürâh, Târîhu Kâşgar, Hudûdü’l-Âlem gibi Türkçe dışındaki dillerde yazılmış seyahatname, tarih ve coğrafya kitaplarından öğrenmek mümkün olmaktadır. Söz konusu dönemi anlatan Türkçe eserler, genellikle menakıpname ve tezkire niteliğindedir. Telif veya çeviri olan bu eserlerin istinsah tarihleri ise oldukça geç dönemi işaret etmektedir. Bu çalışmada incelenen Uveysi tezkiresi, H 1219 (1804) yılında istinsah edilmiş olup 75a-83a sayfaları arasında Ebu’n-Nasr Sâmânî, 83a-102b’de ise Sultan Satuk Buğra Han menkabelerini içermektedir. British Library Or. 8161’deki Ebu’n-Nasr Sâmânî menkabesinin ilk yayını olan bu çalışmada yazmanın muhtelif nüshaları ve bunlara dair bilimsel yayınlar değerlendirilmiş, tarihî zeminde Türklerin İslam’a intisabı üzerinde durulmuştur. Makalede, mezkûr dönem hakkında menkabevi bilgi kaynağı olan, British Library Or. 8161’de mahfuz Tezkire-i Buğra Han yazmasında yer alan Ebu’n-Nasr Sâmânî metninin çeviri yazısı ve Türkiye Türkçesine aktarımı yapılmıştır. Ayrıca üzerinde çalışılan bölümün dil bilgisi özellikleri ortaya koyulmuştur. Yazmanın genelinde Çağatayca ögelerin hâkimiyeti söz konusudur ancak bilhassa manzumelerde 14. yüzyıl Doğu Türkçesinin dil özelliklerinin de korunduğu saptanmıştır. Bu bakımdan, Farsça bir metinden çeviri olan yazmanın erken bir çeviri ve geç bir istinsah olduğu söylenebilir.
The Muslimism of the Turks in the masses and their acceptance of state identity took place in the 10th century during the Volga Bulgarians and Karahanis period. In the whole of the writing, the dominance of the Çağatayca subjects is concerned, but in particular the manuscripts have found that the 14th century Eastern Turkish language characteristics are also preserved. From this point of view, it can be said that the translation from a Persian text is a early translation and a late reference.
