Abstract:

The aim of this study is to determine which teachers are using the impression management tactics. Also used impression management tactics are intended to determine whether teachers differ according to variables such as gender, professional age, age, staff status and branch. The work is designed as an imaginary work in the scan model. The study was carried out through 302 teachers from different branches working in primary and secondary schools in the Kilis province center. The sample of the study was determined using simple unselective sample. Based on the tactics of the impression methods revealed by Jones and Pittman (1982) as a data collection tool, the impression management tactics developed by Bolino and Turnley (1999) and used in Turkish adaptation, validity and reliability studies by Press, Tatar and Shahin (2006) in the impression management tactics measurement. In the analysis of the data, arithmetic average, t test and ANOVA were used. The results of the analyses made have shown that teachers have a significant difference from the impression management tactics to the gender variable in the lower dimensions of affliction, self-loving, gracefulness, example work, forced realization of their importance. In the branch variable, only a significant difference was detected in the size of the affliction. There was no significant difference in the state of civilisation, the state of staff, the age changes.
