Abstract:

Science is the process of thinking about something of interest and systematically acquiring knowledge about it. Scientific research, on the other hand, is the identification of a problem and the investigation, examination and evaluation of the subject using valid and universal scientific methods. Conducting scientific research requires responsibility and compliance with certain rules. In this context, there are ethical principles that scientists should follow in the scientific research process and unethical behaviors that they should avoid. These are referred to as science ethics. Scientific ethics consists of scientific research, publishing and evaluation processes. Scientific research conducted in accordance with scientific ethics will provide more reliable and objective results, making both the researchers and the discipline of the research more valuable. Researches that are not conducted in accordance with scientific ethics not only devalue scientific work but also harm the relevant science and society. For this reason, scientific research and publications should be carried out in accordance with scientific ethics within the framework of accuracy, honesty, openness, fairness, responsibility and rigor. It is thought that this study will contribute to the relevant literature in terms of explaining the ethical problems encountered in scientific research, violations and their causes, and offering solutions for the prevention of ethical violations.
