Abstract:

The aim of this study is to study Ayla Kutlu’s Hello Love child novel in terms of education of values and ten root values. In the framework of this objective, the values in the work concerned have been identified, the work has been studied in terms of the ten root values included in the teaching programs and the importance of the work has been revealed in terms of values. In this study, the "basic quality research" design was used. The material of the study consists of Ayla Kutlu’s children’s novel Hello Love, which consists of 166 pages and was published in 1989. The data obtained in the study, based on the document review, is analyzed by visual analysis, evaluated and interpreted from frequency point of view. At the end of the study, the work found that there were a total of 42 separate values. The 10 root values included in the teaching programs published in 2018 have also been seen in the work. Among these values, love (53), honesty (43), compassion (24), responsibility (24) and respect (22) were the most important values in the work. They followed friendship (10), patience (9) and self-control (7). In the work, the least of the ten root values are the values of justice (5) and patriotism (3). It can be said that the work is rich in values, and that values are important in education. At the end of the study there were several suggestions.
