Abstract:

In the research, which is a descriptive study in the general survey model, it was aimed to examine the sufficiency perceptions of the candidate music teachers on accompaniment with the piano (SPAPA) according to some variables. The sample group consisted of 108 students who were studying at Bursa Uludağ University Education Faculty Music Education Department and were volunteered to answer the questionnaire. Data were collected with the scale for the Perception of Sufficiency in the Area of Piano Accompaniment (SPSAPA) scale developed by Piji (2007). T-test, Anova and Post Hoc Test were used in the analysis of the data. It has been determined that the music teacher candidates have SPAPA above the average. There was no statistically significant difference between SPAPA according to gender and type of high school graduated, a statistical difference was found in favor of 4th grade students between the average of at least one of the undergraduate education years. A statistically significant difference was found between SPAPA according to whether or not to accompany with the piano and to improvise with the piano. According to these findings, the researcher's comments and literature comparison were made in the discussion section and suggestions were made.
