DİNAMİK GEOMETRİ YAZILIMI İLE ÖĞRETİMİN İLKÖĞRETİM 6. SINIF ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN UZAMSAL YETENEKLERİNE ETKİSİ

Abstract:

Bu araştırmanın amacı, ilköğretim 6.sınıf matematik dersi prizmalar bölümünün, geometri ve ölçme öğrenme alanlarının öğretiminde üç boyutlu dinamik geometri yazılımı kullanmanın öğrencilerin uzamsal yeteneklerini nasıl etkilediğini belirlemektir. Çalışma, 2011-2012 eğitim-öğretim yılında, Ankara İli Akyurt İlçesi’ nde bulunan bir devlet ilköğretim okulunun 6. sınıfında öğrenim gören 34 öğrenci ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada, ön test – son test kontrol gruplu deneysel araştırma modeli kullanılmıştır. İlköğretim okulundaki 6. sınıflardan biri deney grubu, diğeri ise kontrol grubu olarak belirlenmiştir. Deney grubunda dersler dinamik geometri yazılımı Cabri 3D’nin kullanıldığı, bilgisayar destekli öğretim yaklaşımı ile kontrol grubunda ise öğretim programında yer aldığı gibi etkinlik temelli öğretim yöntemi ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak “Uzamsal Yetenek Testi” kullanılmıştır. Veriler, bir istatistik paket programı kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. Cabri 3D kullanımı ile ders işlenişleri sonunda, deney ve kontrol grubundaki öğrencilerin erişileri arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlar ilgili literatür göz önüne alınarak değerlendirilmiştir.

The Effect Of The Teaching By The Dynamic Geometry Software On 6th Grade Elemantary School Students’ Spatial Ability

Abstract:

The purpose of this paper is to determine how utilizing the three dimensional dynamic geometry software in teaching geometry and assessment learning domains of Prisms unit of the 6th grades’ mathematics lesson effects their spatial ability. The study took place in 2011-2012 academic educational years on thirty-four 6th grade students studying at a public elementary school located in Akyurt, Ankara. In the study, pretest – posttest control group experimental research model was used. While one of the 6th grades was determined as the experimental group, the other one was identified as the control group. The lessons were carried out with computer assisted teaching approach by using dynamic geometry software Cabri 3D on experimental group and with activity-based teaching method on control group as involved in the curriculum. In the study, “Spatial Ability Test” were used as data collection device. The data was analysed through a statistic program. At the end of the teaching process in which Cabri 3D is used, it has been seen that there isn’t any statistically significant difference between the experimental and control group students’ performance of spatial ability. The study results were interpreted in the light of the relevant literature
