Sinema, felsefenin sonunun ilan edildiği bir dönemde ortaya çıkmış ve düşüncenin dönüşümüne olanak sağlamıştır. Filmin felsefeyi dönüştürmesi temelde bir düşünme biçimi olmasından ileri gelmektedir. Sinemayla ilgilenen düşünürler filmin özüne yönelik bazı sorular sormuş ve bunlara cevaplar aramışlardır. Bu sorgulamalarda filmin ne olduğunu anlamaya çalışılmakta; sinemanın bir hareket mi zaman mı görüntü mü süreç mi olduğu üzerinde durulmaktadır. Sinemanın ne’liğine ilişkin ontolojik, epistemolojik ve fenomenolojik temelli bu çalışmalar felsefi argümanlardan hareketle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Film üzerine düşünenlerin bu çabaları sinematik felsefeyi de şekillendirmiştir. Bütün bunlardan hareket eden bu çalışmanın temel amacı sinematografik imgenin tarihsel gelişimini ortaya koymaktır. Sinematik felsefenin gelişimi klasik ve modern olarak iki döneme ayrılmaktadır. Thomas Wartenberg görüntünün felsefesinin klasik dönemini Hugo Münsterberg’in çalışmalarıyla başlatmakta, Stanley Cavell ile bitirmektedir. Modern dönemi ise Gilles Deleuze’ün iki ciltlik sinema felsefesi kitabı ile başlatıp günümüze kadar devam ettiğini belirtmektedir.
The cinema emerged in a period in which the end of philosophy was proclaimed and allowed the transformation of thought. The film transforms philosophy as a way of thinking. Those who are interested in the cinema have asked some questions about the essence of the film and have sought answers. In these questions, it is trying to understand what the film is; it is focused on whether the film is a movement, time, image, or process. On the ontological, epistemological and phenomenological basis of what the film is about, these studies have been carried out by the movement of philosophical arguments. These efforts of those who think about the film have also shaped the cinematic philosophy. The main objective of all of this study is to reveal the historical development of the cinematographic image. The evolution of cinematic philosophy is divided into two periods, classic and modern. Thomas Wartenberg begins the classical philosophy of image with the works of Hugo Münsterberg, and ends with Stanley Cavell. The modern era indicates that Gilles Deleuze began with the book of the two-course film philosophy and continues until today.
