Abstract:

The aim of this research is to evaluate the 7th class social information teaching program according to the teacher’s opinions. The research was conducted on a total of 134 social information teachers who worked in the 2009-2010 educational year in the official and private primary schools in the center of the province of Malatya. In this study that provides a nicel character, the data was obtained on a scale consisting of five-degraded liquid type substances. The demographic data obtained in this way were analyzed by the frequency and percentage technology. The teachers’ opinions on the social information curriculum are resolved by arithmetic average and standard deviation. If the teacher's opinions show significant differences according to gender, the type of school in charge and the variables of the professional age, the parametric materials "t, the test and the non-parametric materials with Anova were analyzed by MWU and KWH tests. To determine which differences are between the groups, shiffe, LSD and Mean Rank have also been used. From the analysis of the data, it is determined that teachers mainly process the social information course with traditional presentation and research-analyse strategies. It is understood that teachers often use the method of questioning and answering, the method of discussion, the example of events, the brain storm and the method of problem-solving. It is also understood that teachers who process classes in accordance with the modern educational principles prefer to use more traditional materials and do not use the internet too much.  Another outcome from the study is that women teachers, according to men, and private school teachers, use more contemporary methods and materials than official school teachers.
