Abstract:

The main objective of this study is to study the impact of 36-72 months old children’s gender, the area in which they live, the number of brothers and sisters and the teacher’s experience time on receiver language skills through the Peabody Picture Word Test. The participants of the study consisted of 191(98 girls, 93 boys) children who showed normal development for 36-72 months in the Elazığ, Hatay, Kocaeli and Konya provinces. In order to determine the demographic information of children, the researcher addressed the question of the child's gender, brother number, mother's educational status, father's educational status, social status, income level, state of continuing pre-school education and teacher's experience time. In this study, the scanning model and cutting methods of quantum research types were used. The data was analyzed using the SPSS program. In the analysis of the data; Normality Test, T-Test and ANOVA were used. Considering the scores they obtained from the Peabody Image Word Test, 36-72 months of children found that the language development, gender, area in which they live, the teacher’s experience time factors were influential (p<0.05), and the brother’s number factor was not influential (p>0.05).

Bu araştırmanın temel amacı; 36-72 ay çocukların cinsiyet, yaşadıkları bölge, kardeş sayısı ve öğretmenin deneyim süresinin alıcı dil becerilerine etkisini Peabody Resim Kelime Testi aracılığıyla incelemektir. Araştırmanın katılımcıları; Elazığ, Hatay, Kocaeli ve Konya illerindeki 36-72 ay normal gelişim gösteren 191(98 kız, 93 erkek) çocuktan oluşmuştur. Çocukların demografik bilgilerini belirlemek amacıyla araştırmacı çocuğun cinsiyet, kardeş sayısı, annenin öğrenim durumu, babanın öğrenim durumu, sosyal durum, gelir düzeyi, okul öncesi eğitime devam etme durumu ve öğretmenin deneyim süresi sorularını yöneltmiştir. Bu çalışmada, nicel araştırma türlerinden tarama modeli ve kesitsel yöntemden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmada veriler SPSS programıyla analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde; Normallik Testi, t-Testi ve ANOVA kullanılmıştır. Peabody Resim Kelime Testi’nden aldıkları puanlar dikkate alındığında, 36-72 ay çocukların dil gelişimlerine, cinsiyet, yaşadıkları bölge, öğretmenin deneyim süresi faktörlerinin etkili olduğu (p<0.05), kardeş sayısı faktörünün ise etkili olmadığı (p>0.05) saptanmıştır.
