Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to determine the impact of the preparation of the laboratory reports in the course of General Physics Laboratory II in the form of a classical experimental report from the type of writing for learning to the story and the traditional type of writing to the classical experimental report on the academic and laboratory achievements of the Physics Laboratory II and the relationship between the story-report writing scores and the academic and laboratory achievements of the General Physics Laboratory II. The study adopted a quantum approach and used a semi-experimental pattern with a predest-sontest control group from experimental patterns. The study group is composed of 44 science knowledge teachers candidates who study in a state university's Science and Information Education Department. Teacher candidates were assigned unselectively to groups and again the test group and control group were randomly determined. The research has been used as a data collection tool; academic success test, laboratory success test and reports. According to the document dated December 01, 2020 and number 56785782-050.02.04-E.2000301069, there is no violation of scientific ethics in the conduct of this research. In the analysis of the data, independent groups took advantage of the t-test and correlation analysis. The study found that the academic achievements and laboratory achievements of teachers who prepared the experimental reports as a story were statistically significantly higher than the teachers who prepared the classical report. By calculating the rubrics prepared by the researchers and the story and classical experimental report scores, there was no statistically meaningful difference between the story and classical experimental report scores. There is also no statistically meaningful relationship between the story and report scores of the teacher candidates and the academic achievements of the General Physics Laboratory II; however, the General Physics Laboratory II has found that there is a medium, positive and statistically meaningful relationship between the achievements of the laboratory.
