Abstract:

Dede Korkut Kitabı’nın bilinen iki nüshası vardır. Bulundukları yerlere göre isimlendirilmiş bu nüshalardan Dresden nüshasında on iki, Vatikan nüshasında ise altı destan bulunmaktadır. Her iki nüshasının ortak bir dip nüshaya dayandığı yaygın olarak kabul edilmiştir. Bu ön kabule bağlı olarak, iki nüshada kolayca fark edilen farklılıkların kaynağı nüshaları kopyalayan müstensihlerdir. Müstensihler, yaygın kanaatin aksine, metinler üzerinde düzenlemelerde bulunabilen kişilerdir. Nitekim Dede Korkut Kitabı’nın var olan iki nüshası bunun en çarpıcı örneğidir. Bu nüshalardaki farklılıklar kelime/ek tercihlerinden kurgulamaya ulaşabilen derecededir. Bu durum, Dede Korkut destanları üzerinde yapılan içerik ve kurguyla ilgili çalışmalarda dikkate alınmayan bir husustur. Bu makalede iki nüshanın müstensihleri “aile sevgisi”, “sözlü kalıpları kullanma”, “kurgu dikkati”, “kurgu eksiğini tamamlama”, “ayrıntıcı tavır”, “ek kelimelerle anlamı açma”, “İslami terim kullanımı” ve “Kazan taraftarlığı” bakımından karşılaştırılacaktır. Böylece müstensihlerin de kendilerine ait dünyalarının olduğu, onları basit bir kopyacı olarak görmenin, en azından her zaman mümkün olmadığı ortaya konacaktır. The Book of Dede Korkut has got two known copies as Dresden copy and Vatican copy, which were named after the places in which they were found. The former one includes twelve epics while the latter has got six. It is broadly presumed that both copies are based on one common copy. With regard to this presumption, it is said that the reason for the easily recognised differences is the scribes that copied them. Scribes, contrary to the common belief, are such people who can make some arrangements in the text. Thusly, the two existent copies of The Book of Dede Korkut stand as most striking examples of this. The differences in the copies can be seen in a range from choices of words or affixes to fictionalising. This matter is not usually taken into consideration in the content-related or fictional studies on The Book of Dede Korkut. In this essay, the scribes of the two aforementioned copies will be comparatively analysed in terms of “family love”, “use of figures of speech”, “consideration of fiction”, “complementaion of deficiencies in fiction”, “elaborative manner”, “elaborating on meaning with additional words”, “the use of Islamic terms”, and “the advocay of Kazan.” Hence, it will be suggested that scribes, too, have their own worlds, and seeing them as mere copiers is not, at least, always possible.
