Abstract:

The aim of this study is to explore the relationship between beliefs and self-thoughts of university students in the emerging adulthood period about the transformative power of suffering. The sample of the study is composed of 252 bachelor students who are studying in the various departments of the Kazim Karabekir Education Faculty of Atatürk University and determined by the appropriate sample method. The average age of the participants is 21 and the standard deviation is 2.53. The gender distribution of these participants is 181 (71.8%) women and 71 (28.2) men. In the study, the measure of self-love was used for the purpose of gathering data with the measure of suffering's transforming power. The study found that structural equality modeling was used for the purpose of determining the relationship between the transforming power of suffering and self-dependence, and for the purpose of analysis of the correlation of the Pearson moments and determining the relationship between the cover variables. The study found that the total point of the transforming power of pain and the scale of self-excellence between the sub-dimension of the individual (r=.354, p<.01) and the sub-dimension of the individual (r=.329, p<.01) have a medium and positive meaningful relationship. It is also found that the standardized regression rate between the transforming power of pain and self-love is .47 and that the transforming power of pain reveals 22% of the variance in self-love. The findings have shown that there are mean-level positive meaningful relationships between the transforming power of suffering and self-excellence, and that the transforming power of suffering is a meaningful contributor to self-excellence.
