Abstract:

The Yusufeli district is one of the important places with its natural wealth, historical, cultural and local values and undestructed natural structure, the Eastern Black Sea Division has the tourist potential. Exploring the areas that Yusufeli can open to ecoturism, providing its promotion by revealing the historical, cultural and traditional values of the site, will make significant contributions to both the province and the district. This study aims to classify the existing potential in the region and to identify strategies for its conscious use in terms of values that can be a source for tourism activities related to the natural, historical and cultural potential that creates a tourism resource at the regional level. The SWOT analysis method is used as a method. The values that make up the tourism resource of the district SWOT analysis, observations and local studies have been evaluated and classified using the existing tourism and potential ecoturism events. The tourism events made (1) Faith - Cultural Tourism Events, (2) Festival-Festivals (3) Water-based Tourism Events, (4) Nature Walk (for Sports-Discovery Purposes), (5) CampKaravan Tourism, Potential Tourism Events (1) Bird-Kelebek Observation (2) Botanical Tourism, (3) Wildlife Observation, (4) Activities based on Distribution and (5) Bicycle safari have been identified and evaluated. As a result of the study, it is believed that there are important values that make up ecoturism resource in the area from a geographical, ecological and socio-cultural point of view and that the area can be an important ecoturism center with civil society, university, local administration and public investments.
