Araştırmamızda yöneticiliği tercih eden beden eğitimi öğretmenlerinin yöneticiliği tercih etme sebeplerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma örneklemini Aydın genelinde 2022- 2023 eğitim öğretim yılında aktif olarak yönetici konumunda bulunan araştırmamıza gönüllü olarak katılan okul müdür ve müdür yardımcılarından oluşan toplam 182 beden eğitimi öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmamızda Köse (2008) in hazırlamış olduğu 30 madde 5 alt boyuttan (kendini gerçekleştirme ihtiyaçları, maddi ihtiyaçlar, sosyal ihtiyaçlar, saygı ihtiyaçları ve güvenlik ihtiyaçları) oluşan öğretmenlerin yöneticiliği tercihlerini belirlemeye yönelik ölçek kullanılmıştır. Araştırmamızda sonuç olarak cinsiyet değişkeninde sosyal nedenler alt boyutunda istatiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu, eğitim değişkeninde saygı ihtiyaçları ve sosyal ihtiyaçlar alt boyutunda istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu, beden eğitimi öğretmenlerinin sportif uzmanlık branşlarında alt boyutlarda istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılığın olmadığı, beden eğitimi öğretmenlerinin yönetici konumunda çalışmış oldukları okul türü değişkeninde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılığın olmadığı, yöneticiliği tercih eden beden eğitimi öğretmenlerinin kıdem yıl değişkeninde ise sosyal ihtiyaçlar alt boyutunda istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu görülmüştür.
In our research, it is aimed to examine the reasons for physical education teachers who prefer to be a manager. The research sample consists of a total of 182 physical education teachers, consisting of school principals and assistant principals, who voluntarily participated in our research, who were active managers in the 2022-2023 academic year throughout Aydın. In our research, a scale consisting of 30 items and 5 sub-dimensions (Self-actualization needs, material needs, social needs, respect needs and security needs) prepared by Köse (2008) was used to determine the preferences of teachers. As a result of our research; There is a statistically significant difference in the sub-dimension of social reasons in the gender variable, there is a statistically significant difference in the sub-dimension of respect needs and social needs in the education variable, there is no statistically significant difference in the sub-dimensions of the physical education teachers in the sports specialization branches, physical education teachers working in the managerial position. It was observed that there was no statistically significant difference in the type of school they attended, and there was a statistically significant difference in the social needs sub-dimension in the seniority year variable of the physical education teachers who preferred to be administrators.
