Abstract:

Logistics, one of the core sectors of national economic development, can be expressed as an important determinant that affects the competitiveness of. However, globalization and increasing competition have led to the fact that logistics has become one of the most important factors in foreign trade. In the global economy, external trade logistics has a special importance for developing countries to control global trade and share the revenue from globalization. In fact, all imported or exported products are necessarily subject to logistics services. In this context, the purpose of this research is to identify the impact of the logistics sector on foreign trade in Turkey by using time-series analysis. For this purpose, a model of four variables was used in the study. The variables included in the model used can be expressed in the form of the real volume of foreign trade, air and rail transportation cargo amounts, real volume of transportation and real fixed capital investments. However, the variables in the study were created taking into account the annual series of the period 1984-2017. According to the research, developments in the transport sector in Turkey have a positive impact on foreign trade.
